Dear NJES Families,
Thank you for your ongoing support in making North Jackson Elementary School a wonderful place for our students to learn and grow! We encourage all parents and guardians to get involved by joining our NJES Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Our PTO plays a vital role in supporting our school’s mission and vision of providing a safe and supportive learning environment where every child thrives socially, emotionally, and academically as a lifelong learner in our diverse community. Your involvement makes a difference! Our next PTO meeting is this Tuesday, February the 11th at 3:00 PM in our Media Center. We would love to have you join us!
As we begin February, we are excited to recognize Black History Month at NJES! Throughout the month, our Media Center will feature engaging lessons and activities highlighting the contributions of influential African Americans. We encourage you to talk with your children about what they are learning and celebrate the rich history and achievements of African Americans together as a family.
Additionally, February is Severe Weather Preparedness Month in our state. To ensure our students and staff are prepared in the event of severe weather, we will be conducting a Severe Weather Drill on Wednesday, February 12th. These safety practices are important in helping our students know what to do in case of an emergency.
We also want to express our gratitude for your support of our NJES Read Bowl competition and for promoting early literacy at home. Our students are doing an amazing job, and we are so proud of their dedication to reading! We will continue celebrating our love for literacy on Friday, February 14th, with NJES Loves Reading Day! On this special day, guest readers will visit classrooms to share their love of reading and personal stories about how books have shaped their lives. We look forward to a wonderful day filled with stories, learning, and inspiration!
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of NJES. Together, we are making a positive impact on our students' success!
With appreciation,
Troy Johnson
