A Note from Administration
Dear NJES Families,
Happy February! We are excited to announce that this month at NJES, we’re celebrating NJES Loves Reading! Throughout the month, students will have many fun and exciting opportunities to engage with reading in creative and enjoyable ways. Whether it’s through special reading events, reading competitions, or author visits, we are committed to making reading an enjoyable adventure for every student.
Reading is a crucial skill that opens the door to countless learning opportunities. We encourage you to support your child’s love of reading at home, and there are many ways you can help! Here are a few simple tips for encouraging and modeling good reading habits:
  • Read together: Set aside time each day to read aloud with your child. This could be a storybook, a chapter from a book, or even an article from a magazine. Show how reading can be fun and enjoyable for the whole family!
  • Create a cozy reading space: Make a special area in your home where your child can curl up with a good book. A quiet corner with comfy pillows or a special reading nook will make reading feel extra special.
  • Visit the library: Take trips to the local library together! Let your child pick out books they are interested in, and be sure to explore new genres and topics.
  • Model reading: Show your child that reading is a lifelong habit by reading your own books, magazines, or newspapers. When kids see their parents enjoying reading, they’re more likely to develop a love for it themselves.
We’re looking forward to a month full of exciting reading adventures! Thank you for your continued support in fostering a love of reading at NJES. Together, we can inspire the next generation of readers!
Warmly,
Troy Johnson
