A Note from Administration
Dear NJES Families,
We had an amazing first week back from Thanksgiving Break! This past Monday, we celebrated our students' remarkable growth and achievement in Reading and Math during our Best Day celebrations, recognizing their progress on I-Station. It was a joy to see their hard work celebrated in such a meaningful way.
Next week, all students in Kindergarten through 5th grade will participate in the Reading and Math MAP assessments. These assessments provide valuable insights into your child's academic growth. To help your child do their best, please encourage them to:
  • Take their time and focus on the questions.
  • Get a good night’s rest before testing days.
  • Eat a nutritious breakfast to start the day right.
In addition to MAP testing, we are thrilled to kick off our Holiday Happenings as we countdown to Winter Break! From now through December 18th, we’ll celebrate with a different theme each day, bringing festive cheer to the end of the semester.
Finally, we are excited to invite you to our NJES Winter Reading Night on December 17th from 5:30 PM to 6:45 PM! Come in your favorite holiday pajamas and enjoy a cozy evening with family photos, holiday stories, milk, and cookies. We’re also expecting a very special guest from the North Pole to join us in sharing the joy of reading with our community.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting your child’s success. We look forward to celebrating their achievements and making this holiday season one to remember.
Warmest Wishes,
Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Terry

Do you have books at home that are not read anymore? Would you like your child to have some "new" books to read? Students may bring any gently used children's books to the library in December for donation to our annual book swap. We will track the number of books for your child. On December 16th, those students will come to the library and select books of their choice based on the number of books they donated.

Book Criteria
Please make choices carefully before donating books. Books should be appropriate for grades PreK-5. Books should be in good condition: cover on, no rips, tears, or bent edges, no coloring or writing. Book may not be coloring books, activity, or sticker books.

Thank you for supporting reading with this exciting event!

PTO Holiday Store
We sure hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

We have the PTO Holiday Store up and going this Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8-11am.
If you are a parent who would love to get involved I highly recommend doing it for the Holiday Store. It’s always fun to see the kids excited to do something special for their friends and loved ones. We would also just love to see some new parent volunteers. As much as we love our regular volunteers, many will be graduating out at the end of this year and we will need parents to step up and fill in their shoes.

IMPORTANT REMINDER!!!! PLEASE ONLY SEND IN CASH FOR YOUR CHILDREN TO USE IN THE STORE. MAKE SURE IF YOU SEND IN A LARGE AMOUNT YOU ARE AWARE IT IS NOT NJES STAFF OR PARENT VOLUNTEERS RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP UP WITH YOUR CHILD'S MONEY. MAKE SURE ALL MONEY IS SENT IN A BAG LABELED WITH THAT STUDENTS NAME AND TEACHER. IF YOUR CHILD HAS A SPENDING LIMIT PLEASE WRITE THE LIMIT ON THE BAG AS WELL OR BE PREPARED THEY WILL SPEND IT ALL.
