A Note from Administration
Dear North Jackson Elementary School Families,
As we wrap up the first two months of this school year, we want to take a moment to celebrate the amazing progress we are already seeing with our students! The hard work, enthusiasm, and determination they bring to school each day is truly inspiring. Our students have already accomplished so much, and it’s clear they are laying a strong foundation for the rest of the year.
We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to you, the parents and guardians, for your continued support and partnership. Your involvement plays a critical role in your children’s success, and together, we are creating an environment where every student can thrive.
Let’s continue to work together to make this school year one of growth, learning, and joy for all our students!
Warmest regards,
Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Terry

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
Our students have done an outstanding job of showing our PAWS (Pride, Attitude, Work, and Safety) behavioral expectations around the school. This week, we have introduced a music loop in the cafeteria to encourage students to have some quiet time and eat their lunch. For five minutes, soft instrumental music plays. During this time, students are expected to eat quietly. For 10 minutes, music is turned off and students may talk quietly with their friends. We have noticed a significant decrease in unwanted behaviors in the cafeteria since beginning this, and many students have reported how much they enjoy the calming music! Below, you will find what expectations we are enforcing daily in the cafeteria.

Did you know that October is National Bully Prevention Month? This month's Counseling lessons will focus on kindness, empathy, and the difference between conflict and bullying. Discussing the difference between someone having conflict versus bullying is extremely important. Conflict, while unpleasant, is a normal part of life. Bullying, on the other hand, is not.  The video in the link copied HERE provides more information on what bullying is. We encourage you to talk with your children about who their trusted adults at school are, so they know who to go to if they feel they are being bullied.  of a sentence to begin a paragraph.
